BRAZIL 2019

Our Mission: 
Luka M’bawa is the pastor of Kairos Christian Centre, based in Mangochi, eastern part of Malawi. Mangochi has a high population of Muslims. The ministry will primarily be evangelism with the goal of helping this church grow numerically and to build relationships with the intention of sharing the Gospel (Drawing People to Christ) method and discipleship training.

Our Method: 
One-on-one evangelism and teaching Bible classes.

Skills Needed:
Ability to share the Gospel, your testimony, and teach Bible stories.
​Receptivity:
​The people are somewhat receptive but uninformed regarding the Gospel.
Language:
​Yao & Chichew and some English. We will work with and through translators.
Environment:

  • Malawi is the size of Pennsylvania, and one fifth is covered by Lake Malawi. It is bordered by Tanzania to the north, Zambia to the west, and Mozambique to the east and south.
  • Nearly 53 percent of its 15 million inhabitants live below the poverty line.
  • Malawi is one of the safest places in the world. Crime rate is extremely low and the people are known to be very friendly.
  • U.S. citizens may obtain a visa on arrival at a port-of-entry in Malawi the cost is $75.00.
  • Travel will be 25-30 hours of flying with a 4-hour drive to Mission Site.
  • Housing will be at a mission compound – not sure about meals – but plan on third world accommodations. 

Shots: 
(Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Tetanus and Cholera) We will need to take Malaria medications (before, during and after). Yellow Fever is not required, but would consider getting this if we start going to Africa often. We need to check on Poliomyelitis.

    Build relationships with the intention of sharing the Gospel (Drawing People to Christ) method and discipleship training. This is a not a difficult trip and the danger is semi-low. The trip is focused on establishing mission churches with Pastor Geraldo Gomes.
  • Our Method:
    One-on-one evangelism and teaching Bible classes.
  • Skills Needed:
    Ability to share the Gospel, your testimony, and teach Bible stories.
  • Receptivity:
    The people are receptive, but uninformed regarding the Gospel.
  • Language:
    Portuguese. We will work with and through translators.
  • Environment:
    The weather in late July through August is warm, with cool evenings. 
  • Team Size:
    Limited to a maximum of five people.
  • Estimated Cost:
    $2,200 (not including passport, visa, and shots)
